About Us

Here at Sierra Racing Supply we are proud to offer a personalized experience only a small business can provide. Our goal is to get you the best parts for your car at great prices. We only recommend and sell the best available products, through personal testing and experience we’ve spent the money to determine what is necessary and works and what doesn’t, so you don’t have to.

We were founded with the idea that we could put our on-track experience to good use and help other enthusiasts enjoy their cars to the fullest. Whether you just need some advice on alignment or setup, want to source a suspension component, or want to plan out a full build, we’re here to assist.

Our current shop car is a manual 2009 Porsche Cayman S, which has been built with the goal to drive it to the track, compete, put down some great lap times and have a blast, then drive it home. We’ve done progressive modifications and testing to determine which parts are built to last and provide a meaningful improvement for the investment.

Last year we took it to the next level and competed in a Time Attack series, winning first place in class, and first place in overall points. Check out the blog posts on out website for great DIY information and tutorials, subscribe on YouTube and follow on Instagram if you’d like to see more.

Porsche CV Axle Rebuild & Race Prep

A common issue with Porsche CV axles when used on the racetrack is leaky CV boots. I experienced this early-on when I started taking my 987.2 Cayman S to track days, and following common advice on the forums, I just cleaned up the boot/axle,…

GT3 RS Style Vented Fenders for 987.2 Cayman

In my effort to improve the front end aerodynamics of my 987.2 Cayman S, I often look to the Porsche GT cars for inspiration. Aerodynamics are a very complicated subject and really, you need CFD and real world testing to have good outcomes. Porsche…

Top Gear Exhausts

Many years ago when we first picked up our Cayman, some of the first modifications we looked into were an exhaust and headers. Shave some weight, reduce heat in the engine bay, gain some power, and most importantly, make the flat-six sing like it should have from the factory. Coming from a primarily import and domestic background, we were shocked when we saw the prices of the quality systems available. There’s no way they should cost what the big names were charging, so we did some internet sleuthing and came across Top Gear.

We bought a full system to test, and were very impressed with what we received. Designed in the UK, crafted from 304-grade stainless steel, high quality TIG welds, thick flanges; everything we could have hoped for. Over 5 years and 30,000 miles later, with a majority of those miles being on-track, or to and from, they are still going strong. We highly recommend Top Gear’s products for their excellent quality, equivalent to or better than the big names, at a reasonable price.

Apex Wheels

Motorsport enthusiasts have a big problem. Fashion wheels dressed up as performance wheels have flooded the market. These are under-engineered parts that overpromise and under deliver, and they are everywhere.

Apex Wheels has over 15 years experience creating function-first, race-proven wheels, designed by an in-house team of full-time engineers who are diehard motorsport enthusiasts. They offer lightweight forged and flow formed wheels with specifications that are ideal for those looking for real performance and not just motorsport styling or fashion. The wheel industry is an unregulated wild west where anyone can claim any manner of performance for their wheels, whether it’s true or not, to boost their perceived value. And as more false, misleading, inaccurate claims get made, the more diluted the idea of “performance” becomes.

We have been running Apex’s forged wheels on our track and time attack Cayman for many years. They are lightweight but incredibly strong, with their newer lines focusing on reinforcing the areas that see the most stress and damage from track-use. The sprint line wheels offer the ultimate lightweight performance, while the new enduro line trade a tiny bit of weight for maximum durability for that inevitable mistake.

Tarett Engineering

We’ve tested most of the big names when it comes to suspension components, and Tarett stands above them all without a doubt. They specialize in Porsches, and their parts are fully engineered to maximize performance, have perfect fitment, and are race-tested so you can be confident in their durability and longevity.

Prior to testing our first Tarett part, we had gone through a handful of control arms, drop links, toe links, etc. from other well known brands. Nearly all of them had engineering oversights causing poor performance, quality or strength issues, or fitments problems. We were honestly surprised just how common this was. Finally, we found Tarett, and never turned back. There is a reason they are the only suspension component manufacturer we sell and recommend, it’s because there is nothing better for your money. If you choose something else you’ll likely end up spending more to replace it down the road.
